The first tournament of 1996 held on the first Sunday of the year (7 Jan) was the usual Juniors vs Veterans Match. A friendly atmosphere was present when 8 players from each side played against each other. The Juniors team were Colin Pace, Peter Pullicino, Duncan Vella, Horace Cassar, Owen Darmanin, Aaron Falzon, Andre Lupi and Roderick Sant. The veterans were composed by Peter Sammut Briffa, Mark Camilleri, Vincent Xuereb, John Richards, John Petterson, Olive Rippengal, Mario Cassar and Paul Henderson.
