World famous International Master Bob Wade was the star attraction at
the BIM open tournament, the first this year organised by the Malta Chess
Federation.  The Russian Centre for Science and Culture has offered its
premises as the venue.

Wade has been a regular visitor to Malta for several years.  The last time
he took part in a local event was about ten years ago.  That tournament was
an international occasion with the particilation of a limited number of
Maltese players.  This time, since the event is open, everyone is eligible 
to take part and have the chance of facing Mr. Wade.

The tournament will be held from March 10 to 16.  Each player will have
two hours to complete the whole game.

Prices are:  1st place: LM50	circa $150
	     2nd place: LM30	circa $90
	     3rd place: LM20	circa $60

The tournament will be organised using the Swiss System over seven rounds.
